How to Simulcast to Instagram Live from Your Phone (No Encoder Needed)

GUIDE

Instagram Live was built for one camera and one audience. The moment your community spreads across YouTube, TikTok and Twitch, going live "on the 'gram only" quietly strands half your viewers. The fix is a simulcast: one tap, one phone, every platform at once. Here is exactly how to set it up with King Push — no encoder, no laptop, no capture card.

What you need before you simulcast to Instagram

  • The King Push app on iOS 16+ or Android 12+ — the browser studio works too.
  • A linked Instagram account. Tap Destinations, choose Instagram, and authorize through OAuth. It takes about 60 seconds and you only ever do it once.
  • At least one more destination. YouTube and Facebook link the same way; custom RTMP destinations (Twitch, Kick, your own MediaMTX box) take a URL and stream key instead.
  • 5 Mbps upload. Comfortable for a 1080p60 master feed distributed to four destinations. On weaker networks King Push auto-adapts each destination down to 720p30 so nothing buffers.

The 60-second setup

1. Link Instagram through OAuth

Open Destinations → Add Channel → Instagram → Authorize. King Push requests exactly the scopes needed to broadcast and read chat — nothing more. Revoke anytime from Instagram's own settings.

2. Frame for vertical first

Instagram is a vertical platform. Start your composition in portrait and let YouTube and Facebook receive the same feed — viewers on horizontal platforms get a clean pillarboxed render instead of a cropped mess.

3. Go live everywhere at once

Tap Go Live to All Destinations. The Multiview Director Board shows every platform side by side: concurrent viewers, bitrate, dropped frames. If Instagram's connection hiccups, you will see it before your followers do — and you can drop or re-add that single destination mid-stream without touching the others.

Reading one chat instead of four apps

The unified chat aggregator pulls Instagram comments, YouTube live chat and Twitch messages into a single moderated feed. Answer everything from one screen and pin superchats from any platform — no tab-switching mid-stream.

Creators who simulcast consistently report 2-3x faster audience growth per platform — each algorithm sees a busy, well-attended stream and pushes harder.

Instagram-specific etiquette that actually matters

  • Say each platform's name out loud. "Chat on YouTube is asking..." tells Instagram viewers there is a bigger room next door.
  • Keep the first 60 seconds dense. Instagram rewards early retention; front-load the hook on every destination.
  • Announce the next stream with a scheduled post. Compose once in King Push, publish the announcement to every platform simultaneously.

That is the whole workflow: link once, frame vertical, tap once, read one chat. The encoder bag stays in the closet.
